Script for Goodwin-Hollis Family Movies DVD #2 (Original reels 4, 5, 7) Reel #4 c. 1945 Trip to Camp Cachelot, Boy Scout Camp at Myles Standish State forest. Anne (Anne B. Goodwin (1940-) and Bobby (Robert H. Goodwin, Jr. (1941--) and Daddy get into 4-door Mercury sedan wearing identical red flannel shirts and navy pants. We stopped at cranberry bogs and picked some wild flowers and Bobby played signalman with them. We try to get water from a pump - all attempts unsuccessful. We played along the sandy pond shore and ended up taking off our clothes and playing in the water in our underwear. c. 1947-1948 Scenes of front yard of our home at [address--see folder] South Dartmouth and houses across the street to the north. Daddy planted a Willow tree over the cesspool to help keep area dry. Blue Spruces on corner of Prospect and Water St. Daddy loved Roses and here they line the fence with gorgeous blooms - must be June. Skipper getting old. Gimpy, Brad's Beagle. Looking southwesterly across Water St.: mature American Elms not yet ravaged by invasive Dutch Elm Disease. Note Padanaram Bridge. Daddy and Bobby carry oars and Anne in lifejacket walk across the front yard, then climb the fence. At the New Bedford Yacht Club Bobby and I try to push the heavy skiff off the float and into the water and we succeed. Gimpy, Skipper and bobby in the skiff and then Bobby paddles us with one oar. In front of our house, north of Fitch's pier, Bobby rows the red skiff strongly, especially for a little boy! Anne and Gimpy are in the other skiff. Later we jump off the swimming raft at the Yacht Club and climb back up the ladder. We must have been 7 and 6, because we still wear life jackets while swimming. 1949 Bobby runs with Wagsie in the front yard. Our favorite car joins the family - Aztech Blue 1949 2-door Mercury. Anne drags Gimpy up the front porch steps. Daddy emerge from the Merc. Anne and Bobby with Wagsie. [Wagsie just appeared on our doorstep one day and played with our dogs. Then he kept hanging around. He had no identification. "Can we keep him? Can we keep him?" we begged. Mummy placed ads and no one claimed him, nor reported him missing - unusual for a small village. So he became our dog, the precious little sweet thing.] Mummy drives the Mercury into the gravel driveway. Bobby, Anne Brad, Gloria, Googie and Mummy emerge. Bobby and Anne with Wags and Mummy and Daddy. Googie and Daddy in the rock garden. -End of Reel #4 on DVD #2
