Muhammad Ali at Harvard. Clips from speech. (See 2394.13717 for related b-roll)
Ali talks to the audience about the expectation of serious topics discussed at Harvard, and "man's desire to understand what he cannot understand." He says he will do his best to bring "heavy" ideas to them, but their expectation that he is always funny does not help him just now. He urges the audience to respect the differences in cultures and to embrace their own kind, rather than trying to force everyone to be together. He goes on to talk about his belief that it is prudent to respect everyone he meets, because he never knows who that other person might be, no matter how down and out the other person might seem at that moment. He says it is better to, "regard the feelings of others, then harmony is created." Nearly all the footage is clips from his speech, with enthusiastic applause in reaction to many segments.
