Briggs' voiceover of Part II Arctic Adventure; observation of ice in July; sleeping and eating are the big challenges in a 24-hours-a-day daylight situation; arctic terns are observed; birds live well because there are so many bugs in the air; a cabin is discovered that was unexpected at this point in the trip; a surprise visitor by plane stops to chat; lupines are noted; a falcon in training is observed; sand dunes are discovered; the cabin of a dead trapper is visited; heat waves develop on the tundra in July; stunted foliage is noted; a Lapland longspur is observed, as are snow buntings; some Eskimos are observed tagging caribou; several mothers and children are featured; a herd of caribou swimming in the river are observed; killing, skinning and collecting caribou is recorded; butchering is demonstrated; the uses of all parts of the caribou are described; tools, sewing and the scraping of hides is noted; bugs are everywhere; Aberdeen Lake is frozen over so there is a week's pause in travel; abandon camp sites are visited; the difficulty of cooking is demonstrated; a 35-pound trout is a great meal; ten more days of waiting is tedious; gulls are happy for the dinner waste; a black bellied plover is observed; finally moving on, there are rapids and so they must portage; a ground squirrel is observed; they reach Baker Lake in early August, with snow and ice still prevalent; there now is a wait of another week until a plane came; they land at Churchill on Hudson's Bay;
