Newscast (6 p.m.) the day prior to Bangor's 150th anniversary of incorporation. Newscat originated near the Penobscot River, where festival activities were centered. Later on tape: NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw; final segment concerns the 'Big A' hydroelectric dam proposed by Great Northern Paper Company in northern Maine (again, no usable video).
