Black screen: Keystone Ambrose's Sour Grapes Farce Comedy Part One; tinny piano music plays; Ambrose Spurned, His Ring Returned; silent footage of a man seated when a young woman appears dragged before him by a larger older man; she removes a ring and returns it to him; they walk off; the seated man rises and watches them leave; he sees a pair of women seated on a nearby bench and approaches them; they make room for him on the bench and flirt; meanwhile the first couple seem to argue: Take it, I'm not looking; but another man takes the ring instead, and then proceeds to rob him of everything in his coat pockets, and begins to take advantage of the woman; the first young man who has been flirting hears of the first woman's distress and coomes to her aid; he retrieves all the stolen goods; after some kerfuffle the stolen items are returned to the large man and the first young woman defers away from him to her hero; they go off together; engaged; the large man doesn't take this well; Her twin sister and husband arrive; the sisters meet and share greetings; the large man mistakes one sister for the other and says; won't you try to like me?; her husband steps in and is not happy; the sisters have rooms in a hotel across the hall from one another; the large man follows them; the large man and the finance meet each other downstairs and the large man plays a trick on the finance who does not know there are twin sisters upstairs; Behold! your fickle fiance!; as the twin sister and her husband enjoy the balcony; the large man gives the fiance a gun; the fiance chases the large man; when the fiances meet they argue; I refuse to listen; dressed for dinner; but then the fiance is repentant, he returns with a peace-offering; the twin and her husband go to dinner; the fiance believes she is his fiance and goes in with them; the large man tries to meddle; the dinner goes badly; after dinner the twin sister and her husband go to their room, and the fiance finds a way into the room as well; another disguise; but the husband begins shooting and the two sisters end up in the same room while the chase takes place all over the rooms and hallways; finally the finance ends up in the same room as the twin sisters; all becomes clear; explanations all around;
