March 25, 1977 - Fourth Annual "Maine Gay Symposium" news conference at Bangor Community College (see "Calendar," Gay Community News, Vol. 04, No. 39, March 26, 1977, pg. 20) with activists John Paul Hudson, Karla Jay, Nan Stone (Maine Lesbian Feminists), and Peter Prizer (Maine Gay Task Force). Discusses what it means to be gay in 1977, progress of the "Second Gay Movement," the effort to amend Maine Human Rights Act to include sexual preference (sexual orientation), and gay liberation.
