The Dana Gregory Pond Collections contains 12 reels of 16 mm. film shot by Gilbert Pond between 1939 and 1941. Footage depicts family scenes of Mrs. Pond and Dana Gregory Pond as a baby, and some winter scenes of sledding and skiing. The collection offers views of air shows, plane acrobatics, spectators, parachuting, and depicts a variety of single engine and Air Force planes flying in and out of the Portland, Maine, airport.
Gilbert Pond was a pilot for the Portland Press Herald, working for Guy Gannett. Dana Gregory Pond, son of Gilbert Pond, donated the films after having them transferred in 1991.
