Continuation of VT 6, Archie's 90th
February 27, 1992 All dressed for dinner at The Common Man restaurant in Ashland NH. Ann Maguire is not present, as she broke her hip skiing that day. Rex having kids sing "Happy Birthday." Upstairs at Common Man. Fiddle music in background, Stewart plaid in evidence. Mary Lou, Rob and Elizabeth play "Happy Birthday," kids sing. Archie wipes eyes. Archie sings "A Wee deoch an doris." Nana recounts when she and Archie had first date. "Lemon Custard Ice Cream."
Back at our place. Music: Mary Lou leading with fiddle, Nana with drum, Elizabeth with mandolin, Rob with guitar. Later, Virginia attempts to join in with flute. Singing: "Darling Nelly Gray" and other folk songs. They play "Scotland the Brave," "Old Dan Tucker." Little Reggie with harmonica.
Next day, 02/28/92 kids' puppet show. Wild and crazy. Virginia, a beginner on the flute, plays while Rob Kelly patiently accompanies her. "Hot Cross Buns," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Down in the Valley," etc. Ann Sauls with kids in tub. End picture: Abby and Elizabeth? in red bandanas.
