Views of Sunbeam underway, then at a fisherman's dock piled with lobster traps and people coming and going. A fishing trawler or ferry, the Mary A., with several passengers aboard. Views of the Mary A. towing several lobster boats behind her.
Intertitle: "A few "dooryard calls" on coast people". An older couple come out of the door at their house, and older woman stands at her door, and a third woman walks near her woodpile, and then saws a piece of wood outside her small house. Views of farmer with sheep and lambs on rocky ground, and a fisherman trying to untangle fishing lines. Shots of an older man weeding a garden, a fisherman walking over rocks to his house, and a dory being launched from Sunbeam. A woman uses a scythe to trim her grass.
Intertitle: "Island funeral procession". Sunbeam is seen anchored offshore. An old farm truck carries a casket and a group of men down a dirt road. Views from Sunbeam underway in rough seas in winter. Views of Sunbeam tied to dock at low tide so that she is aground. Building supplies are loaded aboard the ship. A group of passengers walk away from the dock, carrying picnic supplies.
Intertitle: "Barn remodeled as Christian youth center". A mission official watches a carpenter work on the inside of an old barn or school. Views of the finished interior. Views of another island lighthouse and three lighthouse keepers posing for the camera.
Intertitle: "The present Sunbeam, Built in 1939, manned by crew of three, 72 feet long, drawing 7 feet, is in year-round service" Views of the ship underway, and of the crew using navigation charts. Views of the ship docked in fog at Stonington, with the fishing boat Sally Sims also at the dock. Views of the ship pulled up in dry dock at low tide, views of her propeller and bottom. Views of the ship at her home dock.
