AbstractIntertitles: “Maine is a Land of Remembered Vacations” Reel 77 is a promotional film about a couple visiting Lakewood, ME, for their honeymoon and the recreational opportunities there, including the Lakewood Theater, with intertitles throughout. The footage includes the honeymoon couple driving past several signs for Lakewood, a sign that reads, “Bungalow Service”, the couple arriving at their bungalow and a man unloading the bags from their car, shots of car license plates from different states, the couple walking around town, meeting up with some women, going into a restaurant, walking around a garden and entering the Lakewood Theater, a shot of a poster that reads, “Now Playing 40th Year Lakewood Players Present Harry Carey in Eugene O’Neil’s Human Comedy ‘Ah Wilderness’ Directed by Melville Burke”, pictures of Harry Carey and the rest of the cast in the lobby, a shot of a poster that reads, “Next Week 40th Year Lakewood Players Present Ethyl [sic?] Barrymore with Her Own Company ‘The School for Scandal’ by Richard Brinsley Sheridan Directed by E.M. Blyth”, a shot of a picture of a woman, a shot of a man sitting on a porch, Harry Carey signing an autograph for the couple, playwright Owen Davis in his yard with a dog, a shot of screenwriters Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, the couple playing tennis, swimming in a lake, playing with dogs and canoeing on Lake Wesserunsett and a few shots of the sun setting.
