Bud Leavitt follows Roy Hugie of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as he conducts a research study on the black bear population in the Mount Katahdin area of the state. Hugie talks about the bears he has encountered during his study on the bear population in the state. Also explains the process of tagging and placing radio collars on the bears. Hugie and members of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife also explain the lab techniques used to study the bear.
