Intertitles: “Maine the Land of Remembered Vacations” “Official State Picture Maine Development Commission State House Augusta, Maine” Reel 65 is a promotional film about native born Maine writers and some who wrote famous works in Maine with intertitles throughout listing the location, author and their notable works. Footage of Clarence Mulford at his home in Fryeburg, ME, cleaning a pistol, loading it, shooting a few shots, checking the metal targets, collecting a few bullets from off of the ground and laying out pistols. Footage of Hugh Pendexter at his home in Norway, ME, leaving the house, getting in a car, getting out of the car on a road in the woods, breaking off a branch from a tree, stripping the leaves off with knife, walking around the forest and a lake using the branch as a walking stick, sitting on a tree stump and tipping his hat to the camera. Footage of Lincoln Colcord at his house in Searsport, ME, writing on his porch and walking through his garden picking flowers. Footage of Booth Tarkington in Kennebunkport, ME, walking along a dock with a man and a dog and then getting in a rowboat with them and another man who rows them out on the water among other boats. Footage of Ben Ames WIlliams and a woman at his home in Searsmont, ME, walking in their garden and sitting on a porch playing with their dogs. A few shots of a woman rowing a boat up to a dock, getting out, walking up the dock and posing for the camera. A shot of C.A. Stephens’ estate in Norway, ME. A shot of the home of Kate Douglas Wiggin in Hollis, ME. A few shots of the Elijah Kellog Church, formerly the Harpswell Congregational Centre Church, where Elijah Kellog was a preacher.
