Black-and-white home movie shot in 1938 of the Ranlett family at the beach at Lucerne-in-Maine and at home in Bangor, Maine.
From John Ranlett, letter to Northeast Historic Film, August 18, 1994: "The three children who appear frequently in the film are Charles Ranlett (age 6 in 1938), John Ranlett (age 3) and Mary Ranlett (age 18 months). Their parents, L. Felix Ranlett (librarian at Bangor Public Library) and Helen Miller Ranlett also appear frequently, both at the beach at Lucerne-in-Maine and in the Ranlett's backyard at 60 Montgomery Street, Bangor. The family's new automobile, a 1938 Ford, is pictured in one sequence. The two little girls in dresses who appear briefly toward the end of one reel are Jean and Beth Butler of Montgomery Street, Bangor. The last sequence in one reel shows Charles Ranlett on the monumental steps of the Bangor Public Library, where his father was librarian."
