AbstractWorld premiere, Blind Alleys: Cloris Leachman (Fran) tells a story of meeting Pat Morita (Kenji). There is a montage of black and white photos of the story interplaying along with her telling the story; Black screen break; Woody and Fran working a the bowling alley front desk, getting ready for a wedding; Fran and her daughter, Amy, fight about Amy's father's absence, who has been gone for three years; Fran shows up at her husband's room and asks him to come to the wedding. He says he will not be coming; Fran leaves in a huff; He does come, however, for the rehearsal dinner at the bowling alley and meets future son-in-law Peter and his parents; Kenji does a performance of Samurai Bowler; cultural feelings run high and the families break apart; the wedding is off, but the kids go to Hawaii anyway; Fran goes back to Kenji's room and they argue to a reconciliation.
