Title: “Fighting For Life: The War Against AIDS”. Dr. Timothy Johnson and Mary Richardson introduce the film ‘Too Little Too Late”. The film features families talking about losing loved ones to AIDS. Doctors talk about the need for family support, with clips from interviews with Phyllis L. Spechko, RN, CANP and J. Allen McCutchan, M.D. of UCSD Medical Center. Also includes a clip from a local tv program, with opinions from Pastor Dorman Owens of Bible Missionary Fellowship. Shots of art therapy, led by Barbara Peabody. Discussion of patients rejected by their families. Discussion of support and feelings of loss from partners. A meeting of the Mothers of AIDS Patients (MAP) group. Andria Hall interviews Josephine and John [Politano], who lost a son to AIDS, and are trying to raise awareness about the disease and encourage family members to support patients.
