Title: ‘New England Sunday’. Jan Holmes and Frank Avruch host. Holmes talks with psychologist Dr. Bob Brooks about telling children about Santa Claus and gift giving. Avruch talks with Rae Edelson, Director of Gateway Crafts, an organization that helps mentally ill/neurodivergent adults. [Includes use of slurs.] They showcase crafts made by the participants in the program. Holmes talks with Needham Fire Inspector Donald B. Ingram about Christmas trees and fire safety. Brian Tracey sings and plays the trumpet. Holmes demonstrates how to cook Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cake. Her colleagues troll her with sound effects. Avruch reports on Agassiz Village, a summer camp for disable children. The camp’s old Barnum and Bailey’s carousel is being restored by artist Winona Miller. Also includes interview clips of Agassiz Village Executive Director Arthur Miller, and artists Randy Goldberger, and Linda Triconi. Music group ‘God’s Messengers’ performs. The hosts and their family members sing ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’.
