CityLine AIDS Special: There are 900 cases in Boston, 20 percent are among the Black community; a former drug user is the central subject of interviews in the stories; the kinds of services and support available are visited; denial seems to be the message that many of the community hangs on to; 87,000 cases of AIDS have been reported to the CDC and almost one third of those are Black or Latino; some children born with AIDS have been adopted; these children require extensive care; Beverly Hayes is interviewed about these kinds of needs and the services that support these children; AIDS education in the Black community has not been entirely successful because there are other things that seem to be more pressing.
