(1) 'The outfit--Art--The cook.' (00:17). Cook drinking cup of coffee out side of tent. The chef wears hat and apron. He points in one direction and then the opposite. (2) 'Tex the guide.' Older bald headed gentleman in cowboy attire and takes off his hat. Places it back on his head. Woman stands near exterior of cabin. Tex moves around a bit. (3) 'Old Charlie.' Elderly gent rolls his own cigarette manually. (1:13). He lights up. (4) 'Freddie the French maid.' Pleasant looking man in cowboy outfits. He removes his hat and leans against rough wooden column. He says a few words and replaces his hat. Moves around just a bit more. (5) 'Don-one of the roughnecks.' Gentleman in his early 20's. Has on leather jacket and open necked shirt. Removes his hat and says a few words. Smiles and continues talking. (2:01) (6) 'Smitty.' Middle aged man in rubber raincoat and white hat. Woods in background. Doffs his hat and makes a bow toward audience. He replaces his hat and touches the side of his face. (7) 'The Boss.' Man in cowboy attire. Lights cigarette and talks. Smokes a bit. Places his hands in his pockets. Man in his early 20's. (8) 'Anne-the horse wrangler.' Girl in long rubber or rain coat. Removes her hat. Places it back on her head. Moves a bit. Reaches down and pats black dog who appears. Removes her hat again. Waves it at us and replaces. (9) 'Just Tommy.' (3:00) Man in cowboy hat. Ordinary flannel shirt coat and trousers. He smilingly removes his hat and replaces it. He struts around and claps his hands off to his right. (10) 'Togo.' A sleek, black dog. He jumps up on a man. Reels 12 & 13: Intertitles in quotation marks, numbered 11-20 in this record. (11) 'The old man.' Tall gentlemen clad in an overcoat. Trees in background. He doffs his hat. He talks and replaces his hat. (12) 'The Dudes.' Three men in cowboy clothes. They're sitting on the ground. A black dog with a white chin is lying on the right. (4:00) (13) 'The Majo Ranch.' Shot of two automobiles. Trees. Wooden building with long porch. Automobile in yard. Man walks by building. Footage of wooden cabin-like buildings. (14) 'Bucking Horses--Valley Ranch.' Rodeo in progress. Man riding a bucking horse. Crowd is gathered near wooden fence. Mostly men. Horse throws man onto ground. Horse gallops away. Cowboy appears astride a black and white horse. He and horse follow a man astride another bucking horse. Black and white dog approaches man and bucking horse. Man removes his hat and waves at around by his side. Still another man and bucking horse appear. (5:06) Black and white horse and rider follow bucking horse and man. Man remains on bucking horse. They spin around. Man comes into the arena. He removes his hat and cheers bucking horse and rider on. (6:03). Bucking horse and rider continue on. Man appears to assist victorious rider as he dismounts. (15) 'Crow Indian Dance--Valley Ranch.' A large bonfire or camp fire. People are assembled outside of tent in wooded area. Indians are dancing. A little boy and two men. Chief dances a bit by himself. He waves feathered tamourine. Indians at the side commence chanting and dancing. (7:01) Chanting continues. Indians at the side beat on handheld drums. Chanting. Beating. Dancing continue. CU of bonfire. Fadeout on dancing. Drumming and chanting. (16) 'Preparations for Trip at Majo Ranch--Shoeing Up the Horses.' Horse shown. Man near fence pats him. Two men are near log-constructed building. Rough wooden fence with people behind it. Four horses shown. (8:00). Several houses shown. Man is shoeing a white horse's foot nearest camera. Another man near fence walks away. Man who was shoeing horse leads horse away. Another man is shoeing yet another horse. Another man holds horse by his bridle. Man prepares horse's rear right foot for shoeing. (17) 'Packing up.' Black horse with swishing tail. (09:03). Offered a treat, the horse prances around. Another horse is nearby. Trees. Shadows. Horse grazes. Man approaches. Tightens horse's blanket. Other man appears. Tugs at rope on horse. Object has been placed on horse's back. (18) 'Trail Up South Fork of Shoshone River.' Wooded area. Men with saddled horses are riding a trail. (10:01). Mountains area with trees shown. Horses and riders now viewed. (19) 'Fording the South Fork.' Men astride houses on edge of river. They enter the river and begin crossing. (11:00). One man puts his hands in the air in 'no hands' pose. Man in end of procession reaches down and touches saddled, but riderless horse. Another bareback riderless horse completes the group. (20) 'Packing into the sheep country.' Man astride horse leads herd of saddled horses. Black dog appears at left. Man astride horse is at herd's end. (12:04) . Herd moves forward. 'The Jackson's Hole Rodeo--Packing Contest, Bulldogging, Relay Races, Bucking Contest and Roping Calves.' Procession of horses. Wagon with riders in view. Men carrying flags. Spectator removes his hat. Men at wooden fence or corral. One man smokes cigarette. (22:13). Rodeo commences. Man enters on bucking bronco. He rides a few paces. Other horse and rider released from chute. Many cars on outside of grandstand. Bucking bronco throws man after he rides a few paces. Man is saddling horse with wooden object. Two men on horses look on. Two men on foot look on. Man astride bucking horse enters arena. Thrown off immediately. (23:03). Another horse and rider enter the arena. Other men on non-bucking horses are riding in the arena. Crouching man in white shirt fires gun. He rises. Three men on bucking houses enter arena. They continue riding. One stays astride for a long time. (24:00). Speckled calf is released. Calf is black and white. More horses and riders released. Rider stays astride for some time. Men pursue speckled calf. Cowboy tries to subdue the calf as another bucking horse and rider come into view. Man pulls calf's head to ground. Back to side of arena with its wooden fence. Cowboys and horses. Man saddles horse at side of arena while another horse races past within arena. Shot of crowd watching at fence. Horse and rider rush by. (25:00). In the arena, man is trying to subdue a black bull. Man grasps bull's head and horns. Horse and rider saunter past as man in cowboy clothes watches man and bull. Bull catches man on his horns and goes around and around. Man tries to free himself of bull's horns as bull stops. Man leads horse around in background. Man at last subdues bull and begins tying him up with ropes. Horse nearby looks on. (26:01). Man completes tying bull. Another man is tying up black and white cattle. Cowboy on nearby horse waves white flag or handkerchief. On the other side horse looks on. (31). 'The pack train crossing the Continental Divide from Enas Lake to Bridger Lake.' Train of heavily packed horses appear on mountainous area with low lying foliage and tall pine trees. Dog appears at side and runs about. Three men astride packless horses some packed horses appear, grazing. (27:00). Shot of foliage. Horses progress down trail. Dog at side looks on. The pack horses scurry along. Some move very slowly. Dog continues to watch. We are at the head of the train. Lead man astride horse comes into view. Horses rest in adjacent field. Two dogs scurry across field. (28:00). Shot of resting horses. Two horses scurry along. Black horse is grazing. Horses progress forward. Man astride horse appears. Two pack horses follow behind. They pause to graze. Black dog surges forward. Another pack horse appears. Unsaddled horse appears. Pack horse and black dog are right behind. Dog breaks into a run. Two men astride horses run down the trail. (29:00). More horses with riders appear and go down trail. (32). 'The Gread Meadows of the Yellowstone.' A meadow. 'Camp bridger Lake-Washington Day.' Woman is hand washing an item of clothing outside of tent. Man emerges from inside tent. Wooded area. Woman emerges from tent. Moose at Bridger Lake. Field with moose near road. CU of moose. Moose grazes on foliage. He continues to feed. (31:00) Moose strides forward. He looks into the camera. He continues grazing. Moose is now in lake drinking. He looks up into camera. Another moose enters the lake. First moose drinks dunking his head beneath the water. Both moose are now on grassy shore. They run off into the woods. Three moose appear. Trees grace field, high grass. (34) 'One moose commences running.' Other moose follows. All three break into a run. (35) 'Sip Point Bull elk in heavy timber.' Moose in background then wanders off. (36) 'Bridger Lake surrounded by fir trees and low mountains.' (34:00) Lake, trees and mountain. Pan of trees and lake. CU of trees. Mountain surrounded by mist. (37) 'Fording the Thoroughfare.' Men astride horses enter lake. One man and horse climb onto opposite shore. Tall trees and mountain grace the land. One horse with his rider pause to drink. (35:00) (38) 'Making camp on Butte Creek.' Horses and men beside creek. Low lying foliage and tall trees surround creek. Horses have packs on. Black dog runs by. Two men appear. Shot of pack horses. One horse wanders off. Man beside white horse is re-winding rope. Another man commences unpacking horse. Man climbs tree. (36:00) Man is raising white tent. Two other men help him by securing rope. They tie rope to tree. One man enters tree. Other men enter to test its stability. Black and white dog. Dog is beside saddled horse. Dog wanders off. Horse is tied to tree. (39) 'Moose at Butte Creek Camp.' Two moose in grass field. (37:03) They break into a run toward the trees. (40) 'Togo Investigates.' Moose runs across field, black dog runs after him. Moose runs after dog who scurries away. Dog returns. Another moose appears. Moose pursues dog. Moose sprints across field. Moose gallops off into the woods then returns to join the other moose and they both wander around. (39:00) (41) 'Deer.' Deer peers into camera. Shot of trees, boulders. Deer wanders about, his back to camera. Foliage. (42) 'Deer Creek Pass.' Long shot of mountains. Trees surround mountains. (43) 'The Pack Outfit Crossing Deer Creek Pass.' Men astride horses in mountainous area. Two black and white dogs run along side the horses. Horses slowly walk along trail.
