Reel 4: Pre-match training at Poland Spring Hotel, Poland Spring, Maine, for Sonny Liston - Muhammad Ali boxing match that was held in Lewiston, Maine (May 1965).
[Silent] Airplane taxis. Sony Liston and his wife Geraldine Liston get off the plane and greet people on the tarmac. They leave the airport through a crowd of fans. [Sound] Sonny Liston walks into a training ring. An audience applauds. Reporter voiceover describes what is happening. (audio cuts out) Reporter interviews a man (a New York sports editor who used to live and report in Portland) in the audience. [silent] A man spars with another man. [sound] Reporter interviews a man (Steve Ellis). Ellis discusses the upcoming fight and comments on Liston's training while the camera focus on Liston practicing. Liston jumping rope. Camera back to interview, then back to Liston training with a medicine ball with Willie Redish Jr. Liston does sit ups.
