Bangor shoe strike report/update
Standup, in front of the picket line, the reporter asks the workers' representative what is the purpose of the walk-out; he responds that the main complaint is against the home worker who take work away from those who come in to the shop; he also talks about the disparity between the pay for making a man's shoe,$.93 a pair, versus a woman's shoe, $.75 a pair, though they take the same amount of time to make; there are views of the strikers standing in heavy coats as the snow pelts them, lined up along the roadway; the reporter read a statement from the Bangor Shoe Company about where it sees the situation; Ralph Lowe reporting;
