Latter part of the film depicts the wedding of Springer Harbaugh Strobel (1894-1945) and Lt. Fletcher Coleman Starr (1886-1978) in Blue Hill, Maine. The men are in Naval Officer summer dress white uniforms. Excerpt from the July 26, 1916 Ellsworth American description of the wedding festivities: “The bridal party sat at table in the reception-room of the cottage, which the newly-married couple entered under the crossed swords of the groom's attendants. The bride cut the wedding cake with her husband's sword. Another unique feature of the festivities was the taking of a moving picture of the reception on the lawn by F. B. Richards. It may be that in a hundred years from now another generation of the Strobel and Starr families will see how the bride and her friends looked and moved on July 22, 1916.”
