Three children (Mary Lou, David and Mark) and an older man (Carl Hutchins) near the water. A tree decorated with sea urchin shells. A woman (Mary) sitting on the beach having her hair styled by another woman (Ada Hutchins). A boy in a motorboat. The family and others at outdoor tables. Women sitting outdoors. [End of Reel]
"Maine, Sept. 1964. Carl Hutchins in hat, Mary Lou, David, Ada Hutchins (blue hat) decorating “Christmas tree” with sea urchins, etc. on an island. (It might have been Great Spruce Head.) Ada cutting Mary Dietrich’s hair. The “Family Fling” (boat) moored, and David running the dinghy to shore with the outboard going full blast. Maybe this was Butter Island. Change of scene: Outdoor semi-formal picnic at table—where??? I don’t know who these people are or where they are. None of them look happy in spite of the corn on the cob and the big spread. Mary Dietrich (in glasses and facing the camera) sitting under a tree talking to another woman."
