A man in uniform getting things ready. Cut to a bottle in the sand. A man comes into frame and picks it up excitedly, opens it and drinks it [His head is out of frame in this scene]. Immediately he throws the bottle away and cleans his mouth with his handkerchief. The man in uniform picks up the bottle and smells it. Cut to family eating on the beach. [End of Reel]
Supplied by the Historic Movies of Martha’s Vineyard project at the Vineyard Gazette in Edgartown, Massachusetts: More picnicking. Evidence of liquor in a big glass jug, which would have been illegal at this point in history. Two men pretend to drink from a bottle they find at the beach, and they find it disgusting. The family eats.
