Intertitle: "Home Movies Presents 'The Flood' Spring of 1940"
49:12- 50:37 Views of rushing water on village streets, running down embankment by small bridge and into stream below, running under buildings, up to bumper of parked car, down hill, across bridge and into stream. Roiling water. Men try to pry up boards in building to let water through.
50:37-51:19 Deep culvert cut into road as result of water/flood damage. Views of water moving through, and car cross culvert on temporary boards put across the gap. Another car is almost caught in the rushing water near a bridge, as two men watch.
51:20-51:54 Men watch the rushing water near bridge in village. Pan across the torrent.
51:54-53:13 Views under bridge as water rushes in and by the camera. Views of group of men standing on bridge watching. Man places sign at bridge" Road Closed, Pass at Your Risk". More views of rushing water, damaged roads at bridge, (some overexposed), culverts caused by water.
53:15-54:34 Man works to break up road surface as truck arrives with rock and gravel to fill the culvert. Pipe is laid in culvert. Views of broken road surfaces in country. A woman looks down at water pouring through where bridge used to be.

54:35-56:01 Views of small wood building with no windows with truck in front. Good view downhill looking at Palermo, Maine village with the road going through it. Gas station on left, church in background. Long shot of truck with workshop on bed behind as it descends hill in background and comes toward camera. Man watches as the shed tilts to one side as it goes up the hill. Another man sits on the roof of the shed.
56:01-56:50 Infant lies in the sun in mother's lap with blanket and bonnet on. Interior shot of the same baby lying without the bonnet and blanket. Then shot of baby sleeping in bassinet.
56:50-58:04 Man standing in front of fence with rifle and three game birds in his hand which he shows off for camera. He stand in front of house with raccoon he has caught, then in front of house with pelt of raccoon. Shots of a deer ( doe?) handing from the roof of a house.
Intertitle: "Christmas 1940"
58:05-1:00:43 Man walks down snowy road toward barn with ax on his shoulder. He comes back dragging a Christmas tree, which he trims as his wife(?) comes out of the front door of the house. He nails on a wooden stand. Views of the tree set up in the house, and woman hanging lights, garland, and ornaments on the tree. She reads through Christmas cards. Views of the completed tree with presents under.
1:00:44-1:04:15 Views of tree change to COLOR film. CUs of ornaments, presents, decorations in room, etc. A woman puts presents under the tree. A man shakes some presents and puts others under the tree. A second woman with an armful of presents puts some under the tree. A smiling man puts presents under the tree. An older man picks up some presents, puts others under the tree. An elderly woman takes her turn putting presents under the tree.
1:04:16 - 1:04:44. Baby (seen previously) about 5-6 months old sits in wooden high chair, then drools and smiles.
