Bermuda Race- 1946 Donor notes on can: Fred Lane's Bermuda Race on Khamsin 1946. The Newport to Bermuda Race was sailed in June, 1946 from Newport, RI, to St. David's Head, Bermuda. Khamsin home port Brooklin, ME, was one of 31 starters in the yacht race. Views of crew and their wives celebrating aboard Khamsin. Pans of anchorage at Newport with a few boats sailing through, as well as large naval ships at anchor. Views of the starting line of the race, with naval ships creating the starting line, and sailboats under full sail. Views on board Khamsin under sail during the race. Views of Khamsin at anchor in Bermuda, with wives of crew members on board, including Anita Marshall. White-roofed buildings and large hotels line the harbor.
