AbstractScenes of the surrounding countryside with the camp in the distance. Footage of workers raising large tents at Senior Camp. Two shots of the camp grounds. A train arrives. Several men and boys exit the train. A number of cars and trucks are lined up. People are loaded into the trucks and then driven off down the road. Two group shots of the campers and counselors. Two shots of the camp seen through the trees. Footage of boys diving from a low diving board and a higher platform. Several boys swim laps between two docks. Three shots of boys diving backwards into the water. Footage of boys swimming laps between two docks as a band plays on one of the docks, directed by Rolland Tapley, for the camp’s Regatta Day. This is interspersed with several shots of boys diving into the water as a crowd watches from the shore. Boys practice life-saving techniques on the docks and in the water. Several shots boys racing long, war canoes and in sailboats. Footage the dedication of the new Nature Shack. Ross McKenney, builder of the shack, and Frank Poland address a crowd of campers and then a Mr. “Doc” Bishop and a Mr. “Jule” Steyermark are introduced. Mrs. Alexander and Mr. Wilson of the Maine State Department of Fish and Game gives a talk on native birds and she displays some bird skins. A few boys walk through the entranceway to the Camp Medomak Wildflower Garden. A shot of the sign. Footage of boys exploring the garden.
