Four people, Archie Stewart's parents and others. [Annie Eliza Maharay Stewart, Archie's mother (1879-1972), second left in group. Thomas Wesley Stewart, Archie's father (1874-1951) shown on ferry. George Northrop is well-dressed man with cigar.]
View from top of lighthouse signal tower, river and plowed fields. Geese on shore, flying, rising from water. Ducks and flocks of swans. Ferry approaches pilings, interior of ferry deck, signs says 'Gateway to the South.' [The ferry is the Chesapeake Bay Ferr from Norfolk to the Delmarva Peninsula] Various shots of smokestack, people on deck, truck loading, departure from dock, passing other boats in harbor. Nice shots (dark) of ferry passing setting sun, low, red sky, reflection on water. Mules, cow in barnyard. Men weighing feed (?), around car. Several prosperous looking white men chomping cigars. Two black men in overalls. Archie, in suit, pats pair of mules.
