1996
In 1896 Edward MacDowell and his wife Marian purchased a farm in Peterborough, New Hampshire. After Edward's death in 1908, Marian transformed the 450-acre property into a colony for poets, playwrights, composers, painters, sculptors and authors. Over the years, many famous artists created some of their greatest work there. In fact, more than 50 MacDowell colonists have won Pulitzer Prizes. This historical documentary provides an inside view of the Colony and how it works.
