Factual film with no credits. Possible producer is Maine State Dept. of Tourism or Maine State Dept. of Fish and Game. Many intertitles about fishing for tuna. 'Tuna fishing off Portland Harbor, Maine with Sea and Shore Warden, Joe Wallace.' Two boats, calm seas. 'The Portland Lightship marks the engrance to Portland Harbor,' LS and CU. 'We sight a school of small fish, note the wake of the fish.' Fish splashes in calm water, tub of line. 'Oh Boy! This is a small one but look what he did to the harpoon iron.' CU hands pulling in line, harpoon in fish alongside boat. 'This one weighed 125 pounds.' Man smiles and holds up fish. He's wearing saddle shoes and knickers. Fish on deck. View of another fishing boat. 'Warden Supervisor Stickney throws the iron fly.' 'The iron fly hits the mark.' 'The warp goes out.' Line in bucket. 'The end of the warp, over the side goes the keg.' 'Now we chase the keg and take it aboard.' 'Playing the fish on the end of a 100 fathom line (600 feet).' 'The harpoon comes in with the end bent.' Two men on boat, one in cap, pulls in line, the other has harpoon. He's wearing a white shirt and tie. 'This one is better, 432 pounds.' 'It took three of us to get this baby aboard.' 'These fellows are made for speed. See how the dorsal fin fits into a pocket.' CU demo of fish's fin. We hail a mackerel fisherman to see if they have seen any fish.' Man high on a spar. 'We lost this one--could not hold him.' 'Note the wake at left of this fish.' 'This one would give you lots of fun with the proper rod and reel. (492 pounds).' Floating dead fish, hauled on board. 'The end of a perfect day, 3 fish caught, 2 lost.'
