Orff-Schlwerk is a non-traditional approach to education; founded by Carl orff, it employs music as means to unlocking the creative forces in each individual. NHF viewing notes: Children and teachers play various instruments while flowers dissolve in and out. Poem quotations fade in and out. Minimalist style music throughout. Other scenes: children dancing (freestyle and choreographed), drawing. Film veers suddenly into classical music with scenes of traveling through United States. Then back to children.
