AbstractJuly 1, 1968, is noted by the Bangor airport manager, for the airport to officially open, but the city of Bangor will not [yet] own the land of the airport but have a temporary deed; it is a paperwork issue; nor will the FAA take over the control tower on July 1, but rather the Airforce will continue to operate the tower until the FAA is ready to take over control tower duties; there will, however, be a Maine-based airline for the airport beginning Sunday at midnight;
