Commercial production. Description in 1988 film catalog: Ruth Stout, an independent, self-reliant woman of ninety-plus years, explains her 'no work' method of gardening. In a 45 by 50 foot plot, she grows enough vegetables for two people without weeding, watering, or fertilizing. She also lectures and writes books and articles. She recalls some of the highlights of her life - she marched with Carrie Nation and fought for famine relief for Russia - but more important is the portrait of an energetic, humorous and vital woman that emerges.
