ìStepping Outî is a program which focuses on the changing roles of women in society, and the problems facing women who work outside of the home in all spheres of society. The program includes recurring segments such as ìThe Trials and Tribulations of Ruby Slippersî and ìMechanical Minute with Lotta Knowhow.î This episode includes information about dealing with rape and segments on the Rape Crisis Intervention Team at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, on clerical workers and the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) and on psychological counseling and therapy. It includes footage of Dr. Pam Benson (member of the Rape Crisis Intervention Team), Rita Barreau (clerical worker in Lewiston) and Flossie Irish (patient in counseling).
