SOUND Screening notes: Sound Archie narrating, mother given cake for 63rd birthday. People around campfire, waving bushes. (Poor ambient sound.) Gathered around picnic table, etc. Mother Mary and holding Ann (begins with double exposure, airplane). Standing beside Brookside Pond, Ann gives mother bouquet of wild flowers.
Archie by Brookside Pond: 'The pictures which follow ... I took 10 years ago today.' Young woman (Mary) practicing speech for Class of 1941 graduation (Christmas tree left, piano right). References to World War II. '..responsibility of our generation to establish order... probable the entire world will have to adjust to new social and economic scale... (Education) only thing once gained that cannot be taken away.' (Color)
