Interview by Clif Reynolds with Captain Stinson Davis (1884-1987) at his home in Five Islands in Georgetown, Maine. Discusses his time sailing and whaling. Tells story of being rescued from sinking ship and taken to Cuba. Davis points to photos of the many schooners he worked on. Captain Davis has a notable accent; talks about ship "built here in Bath," put in seven years hauling mahogany during World War I. "My brother he was drowned." "Catching herring, is that romantic? Course you get a lot of money from it." Discusses cost of sail.
