A voice over describes the wildlife/forest balance and the need for some attention on control of new human construction. There is a focuses on the lifecycle and decline of the woodcock, and attempts to create a habitat for the woodcock at Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge in Calais. There is an interview with wildlife biologist Greg Sepik of the United States Fish & Wildlife Service about the program. He also explains how woodlot management can help the woodcock population.
