Footage of Kmart store in shopping center, 'Free Safety Inspection 1975 and Older Cars' sign posted in front of shopping center. Mechanic inspects tail lights on car, car in garage on hydraulic lift. Mechanic inspects rusting underside of car. Interview with Maine State Police trooper on safety inspections for cars/automobiles. Says cars are getting poor inspections in the state and lots of unsafe cars are on the road as a result, a lack of manpower to enforce the laws.
