At a press conference, Senator Edmund Muskie talks about his activities and comments on a reporter who had said he was overly busy; he also notes the honeymoon period for a new president, Richard Nixon, and that eventually there will be partisan sniping because "you members of the press prod us to get into partisan sniping" with much chucking around the room; he also mentioned that among his first legislative initiatives of the term was to introduce a water pollution bill, S.7, again, which he noted almost passed in the previous legislative year;
