Amateur footage primarily of camp activities at Birch Rock Camp, Waterford, Me. (and possibly at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, N.H. where William Brewster, founder of Birch Rock Camp, was headmaster for many years). NHF Cataloguer's Notes: (47:03) MS two boys in the woods. Group of birch trees. Older man talks to young boy. Two other boys now listen to older man's explanation. (48:00) Boy hands older man a small stick. Man breaks off thin tree trunk. He pounds at the top of the trunk and then removes a portion of it. LS boys swimming in lake and splashing water at one another. CU older man sitting on ground. Boy brings him a snake. Older man is camp naturalist, George Howe, native of Norway, Maine. Mr. Howe standing near wooden frame in water along shoreline. Mr. Howe wades in water. He picks up hammer and small piece of wood. (50:02) LS lake with sailboats. End of reel.
