Collection contains home movies, including footage of the Brady Gang's bodies being removed from street in Bangor after a shooting in 1937, and a civil rights parade in Bangor in early 1960s. Other scenes show visits to Bangor, Dow Air Force Base, and Orono by U.S. Presidents John F. Kennedy (1963), Lyndon B. Johnson (1966), and Richard Nixon (1971) as well as school and church constructions, wedding and a Kenduskeag Stream ice jam.
Dow Air Force Base, formally named in 1942, began operation as the Bangor International Airport in July 1968. The Brady Gang was led by Al Brady, born in 1910 and first jailed for attempted theft in his late teens. He started the gang after he was paroled, and was killed in Bangor in October 1937. Dick Shaw, born in 1952, lives in Bangor. Original footage is 16 mm., 8 mm. and super 8 film.
