      Collection contains [Sawyer--home movies], with logging footage shot by Omar Sawyer in the Bingham area and other footage of family summer and winter activities, trips and events such as Donald Sawyer's wedding. Children and other family members appear. Included are several reels of film with scenes of World War II German soldiers marching on foot, moving military equipment and airplanes, and marching in a military band.
      Omar Sawyer (1886-1969) was manager of woodlands for the Hollingsworth and Whitney Company of Waterville; he also managed cutting on Ball Mountain. He moved to Bingham in 1912. His son Donald was born there in 1920 and became a World War II Navy pilot in 1942. He moved to Florida and then returned to Waterville. Footage of German war scenes was given to Donald Sawyer by a friend living in Waterville.
