SummaryCollection contains documentaries and other factual works concerning Maine's logging industry, such as "Log Jam," "Penobscot Development Corporation's Pulp Operations at Shorey Siding, Maine," "Lombard Hauler," "Tourmaline: Maine's Mountain Treasure," "Locomotive Lion," and "Pioneer Axe." [Maine State Museum Logging Exhibit] is a compilation of extracts from these films used for a public exhibition. Collection also contains "A Few Good Men," a promotional film made by Great Northern Paper Company, and unidentified home movies: 1920s amateur footage of summer camps, hunting, ice fishing, hot springs, Bucksport Mill and Fort Knox.

Biographical/Historical NotesThe Maine State Museum in Augusta preserves and interprets materials relevant to Maine history, life and culture. The Museum opened its exhibit about Maine's logging heritage in 1987.
