      Collection contains travel and industrial amateur footage from around the country. The amateur films cover the Poland Spring Hotel in Poland Spring, Maine, in 1937; Shrine conventions and parades around the U.S. and Canada; firefighters in Somerville, Massachusetts, and a 1948 fire in Greenville, Maine; travel in the U.S. southwest; Caribbean cruises; and vacations in Maine, at Disney World in Florida, on the Mississippi River and in France. The Collection also contains amateur Navy combat footage from WWII including battles involving the U.S.S. Maury and V.F.W. parades in 1945. Commercial titles, 43 prints, include "Technology" and other reels documenting the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Castle films newsreels, "Machine Shop Procedures," sports reels, cartoons, "Yacht Racing and Cruising," etc. Of particular interest are the commercial titles employing the use of a high speed camera at MIT to demonstrate slow-motion photography.
      This collection was found in a machine shop in Lewiston, Maine.
