Hawkes, Rick Collection
Collection contains home movies made during all seasons of the year at the family’s home in Bangor, Maine, at their lakeside camp, and while traveling around Maine and to Winnipeg, Canada. The interior scenes show holiday events, as well as domestic activities such as a baby’s first haircut, bathing an infant in a basin, and carving a turkey. The emphasis in the camp reels is on hunting, ice fishing, and recreational boating while several reels focus on the aftermath of significant snow storms, highlighting winter outdoor activities.
The Hawkes’ camps seen in these home movies were at Pushaw Lake located north of Bangor, Maine, and Hurd Pond located southeast of Brewer, Maine.
