Collection contains documentaries. "Logging in Maine" (1906) shows men cutting timber and river driving logs to the mill. "Trout Fishing, Rangeley Lakes" (1906) is a film made for the New England Forest, Fish and Game Association and has scenes of fishing camps. "Automobiling Among the Clouds" (1904) shows automobiles driving along the road on Mt. Washington. "Drawing a Lobster Pot" (1901) is a scene of a man in a dory hauling traps.
The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, founded in 1895, was one of the best known early American production companies. Known more simply as the Biograph Company after 1909, it declined in importance after director D.W. Griffith resigned in 1917. The Library of Congress was established in 1800. Located in Washington, D.C., it serves the members of Congress as well as the entire Government and the American public through various divisions and a wide range of services.
