SummaryCollection contains footage from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, camp footage from Birch Rock Camp in Waterford, Maine, and two commercial shorts. Biographical/Historical NotesBirch Rock Camp opened in 1926 during an era of high summer camp attendance in the Oxford County region of Maine. William and Leona Brewster founded the camp for boys on Lake McWain. William Brewster also served as the headmaster at Kimball Union Academy for many years. David Sanderson’s family has lived in Waterford, Maine, for over 200 years. The camp is located beside his great-great-grandfather’s farm, established in the 1850s.
