      The collection contains broadcast programs, and other materials including public service announcements and political campaign spots. Public affairs and general interest series represented include "Great American Woodlots," "Home: The History of Maine," "Maine Reporters Notebook," "Media Watch," and "Personally Speaking." Cultural programs include "Bangor Symphony Orchestra: Tribute to Verner Torkanowsky," and episodes from the series "Painting in Maine." Programs include "The Grange at the Crossroads," and "Like An Ever Rolling Stream: The Rural Church in Maine" Collection also includes material on the Associated Press (AP) in Maine.
      Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) was using MPTV as a corporate name when these materials were donated. The broadcaster was formed from the merger of WCBB-TV in southern Maine and the University of Maine MPBN network. WCBB-TV went on the air in 1961 as a partnership of Colby College, Bates College, and Bowdoin College.
