The collection consists of 8 reels of silent, black and white film, totaling approximately 200 feet. The films were shot by Carl E. R. Jacobson, primarily in Connecticut and New York, and feature scenes of family gatherings, trips, and damage from a hurricane.
The collection was filmed by Carl E. R. Jacobson, and donated by his son, Bruce Jacobson. Bruce Jacobson's grandfather, Carl A. Jacobson, was a professional photographer who had worked for Kodak.
